Bayfield Assisted Living in Bay City recently celebrated the opening of their new addition featuring additional assisted living apartments and Moments Memory Care apartments. The staff is very excited about the opportunity to serve more people in the Bay City Community.

We had a successful groundbreaking for Grandhaven Living in Lansing, Michigan. Due to popular demand we are increasing the capacity to this community from 80 apartments to 100 apartments. Grandhaven Living Center has been in operation since 2002 and had their first expansion taking them from 40 apartments to 80 in 2005. We look forward to seeing the final results of this beautiful construction project and to be able to share Life’s Journey with more Lansing area Seniors.

Leisure Living Management is excited to break ground on another assisted living community. Construction has begun for Springvale Assisted Living in Swartz Creek, Michigan. Springvale will offer care to 14 Memory Care residents and 34 assisted living residents. We are excited to share life’s journey with the community of Swartz Creek.

Third graders at Central Elementary School in Owosso had some special visitors Thursday. Since fall, the students have been traveling to Oliver Woods, a nearby assisted living community, reading to residents on Thursday mornings. Thursday, the class hosted their new friends for a special tea party in the school library. Read the full article here.

Devonshire Retirement Village, in Lapeer, was recently selected as the winner of the Chelsea Rhone Helping Hands Award. The award comes with $3000 to pursue further means in increasing the quality of life for their residents. Risk Manager for Chelsea Rhone, Lisa O” Neil, stated, “It was obvious that the residents are actively engaged and participating in various activities depending on their interest. The staff is very dedicated and serve as companions for their residents. A very dedicated team is in place with lots of positive changes!”
